Spelling & Vocabulary

Spelling: Your child has 20 spelling words to study each week. It is important that your child does study these words. They will have a spelling test every five school days. It will not always be on Fridays.

Vocabulary: Your child will have 6-8 vocabulary words each week. We will study these in class and they must understand the meanings. Every fifth school day we will have a test to determine if each child has successfully understood the meanings of the new words. These words are not always words they are familiar with. You will hear your child's vocabulary increasing as we progress through the year.
